EMI shielded power supplies with protective circuitry are ideal for world wide applications

Ultimate Renaissance is offering a new series of power supplies with active power factor correction, output overload protection up to 145% above peak, and overvoltage protection up to 35% above the nominal output. Suitable for a wide range of applications including industrial and telecoms designs, the new Astec LPS170 have a built-in EMI filter, a wide 2:1 adjustable output range and comply with IEC EN61000-3-2 specifications.

Delivering total power of between 110W and 175W, the Astec LPS170 single-output power supplies offer output voltage options of 5V, 12V, 15V or 24V. Typical power factor is rated at 0.99 and leakage current is measured to be 1mA at 50/60Hz and 264VAC input. Integrated features include remote sensing on the main output, power failure and remote inhibit functions, and a DC 'power good' function to check for loss of regulation.

The new power supplies operate with a typical full load efficiency of 75% and maximum output ripple of 120mV. Input voltage range is between 85VAC and 264VAC or 120VDC and 300VDC, making the supplies ideal for applications that will be deployed globally. All supplies provide single wire current sharing as standard and is used for N+1 redundant operation.

The new supplies also include a 5V standby output as well as a 12V auxiliary output. Supplied in a 216 x 108 x 38.1mm housing, the new LPS170 series has an operating temperature range between 0°C and 50°C and is compliant with all relevant VDE, UL, CB, CSA, CE and NEMKO safety approvals.
