UR strengthens its PCI and PCI-X offering

Ultimate Renaissance (UR Ltd) has added the PLX Technology range of PCI-to-PCI bridges to its extensive portfolio of communications products.

The addition of these products, follows the recent acquisition of Hint by PLX Technology. UR has been working successfully as PLX's partner since the beginning of the year and the addition of these products will greatly enhance its product portfolio in the P2P (PCI-PCI Bridge) arena.

PLX is a fabless supplier of PCI and PCI-X bridge chips and its complete product line spans the entire PCI range from 32-bit 33MHz, through 64-bit 66MHz, and includes the advanced 133MHz PCI-X version of the standard.
By extending the range of PLX products, UR will be able to offer customers a wide selection of interconnect chips based on PCI, PCI-X
and Hyper Transport standards and expand their activities in markets such as PCS, servers, storage, communications and embedded-control applications such as imaging, industrial control and test equipment.

'Our business wins with PLX are going from strength-to-strength and the addition of the P2P range will give us even more leverage when we are talking to our expanding range of customers in the communications market', said Joe Matano, UR's Managing Director. 'We are seeing a growing number of opportunities with PCI and PCI-X and being able to offer more products with this technology is a great asset to our business', he added.
